Located on Jalan Suweta, Ubud, village Bentuyung, “Sari Api” open-air ceramics studio is just only 3 km north from Ubud’s main road. The studio itself founded in 1996 by Suzan Kohlik (graduated from Centre Doret Ceramic Art School in Vevey, Switzerland) are equipped with 2 electric wheels, a large gas-fired downdraft kiln and plenty of workspace.
“Sari Api” offer classes for children and adults, as well as open studio time for experienced artists, the studio open from Monday to Saturday, 9 AM till 5 PM.
There are many options for the classes such as:
– Full Course (total 16 hours, divided into 2-3 hours)
including clay glazes and firings
– Half-Day Workshop (total 3 hours)
including covering various hand-building techniques and wheel throwing.
– Kids Class (for aged 4 – 14)
Fun and creative class for kids, held every Saturday 10.30 AM -12.00 PM (noon)
There is also open studio every Wednesday, from 2-5 PM, special for adults who know enough about ceramics to work on their own and wants to explore their creativity.
